Fabio Soda is an Italian-style soft drink brand made in Melbourne, Australia. We craft three citrus sodas the Italian way: less fizz, real sugar, a hint of bitterness, and designed to pair perfectly with food.

This isn't a standalone refreshment. This is a drink that cuts through rich food, cleanses your palate, and turns every meal into an experience.

Our Story: From Necessity to Australia's Next Great Soda

Fabio Soda was born from frustration, a fridge full of imported Italian sodas, and a stubborn belief that Australia could do this better.

Founder Fabian Capomolla grew up in an Australian-Italian household where Sunday lunch wasn't complete without a bottle of chinotto pulled from Nonna's garage fridge. Food and family were everything. The soda was just part of the ritual—something that made the meal better, not something you'd drink on its own.

But in 2018, after bowel surgery, Fabian found himself unable to drink most "low-sugar" sodas on the market. The artificial sweeteners—stevia, erythritol, aspartame—destroyed his gut. And the imported Italian sodas he loved? They were expensive, hard to find, and frankly, ridiculous to ship across oceans when we have everything we need to make them here.

So in 2024, Fabian set out to create the sodas he wished existed:

Real sugar: no gut-irritating artificial sweeteners, just proper flavour

We launched in September 2024 with three flavours: Lemon (Limonata), Mandarin (Mandarino), and Chinotto (Italy's national soda). Our mission? Take market share from San Pellegrino and prove that Australia can make one of the world's best-tasting soft drinks.

What Makes Italian Style Different?

1. Less Fizz, More Enjoyment

Italian sodas are lightly carbonated—gentle on your stomach, easy to drink, and you won't feel bloated after half a can.

2. Designed for Food

The slight bitterness cuts through fats and cleanses your palate between bites. This is why Italian sodas are served with pizza, panini, and rich street food—they're meant to enhance the meal, not compete with it.

3. Real Sugar, Real Flavour

We keep it simple: real Australian sugar. No stevia, erythritol, or aspartame. It's gentler on your gut (we know from experience) and delivers proper flavour. Sweet, but not silly.

4. Care for Taste

Italian style isn't about fancy ingredients or health claims. It's about making something that tastes really, really good. Basta.

Italy's national soda. Complex, warming notes of cinnamon and clove with sour hints of rhubarb and quince. Prized for digestive qualities.

Where We're Made

Our sodas are produced in Melbourne, Victoria, using predominantly Australian ingredients. We work with Australian juice suppliers, local co-packers, and Melbourne-based manufacturers.

Why not import? Because it's ridiculous to ship beverages—which are 95%+ water—across oceans when we have a strong local industry that needs support. It's better for the environment, better for Australian farmers, and better for quality control.
